Yacht Refit & Repair in Spain

Practical refit planning, repair coordination and project supervision for sailing yachts, motor yachts and catamarans from Altea on the Costa Blanca.

A refit plan built around the yacht and the owner

A yacht refit may be a focused repair, seasonal maintenance period, pre-sale preparation or a larger programme combining structural, technical and cosmetic work. Premium Yachts Spain defines the practical scope, coordinates the yard and appropriate specialists, monitors agreed work and keeps the owner informed. We perform work where our demonstrated capability and the agreed scope support it; regulated or specialist trades remain the responsibility of the appointed contractor.

  • Single-project coordination for sailing yachts, motor yachts and catamarans.
  • Yard, haul-out, access, supplier and subcontractor scheduling.
  • Quotation comparison, approval control, progress photographs and issue reporting.
  • Commissioning, sea-trial or handover coordination where agreed and appropriate.

Service scope

A practical refit scope beyond the core workshops

Not every workstream needs a separate landing page. These areas remain part of a coordinated refit when the yacht, evidence and selected specialists support them.

Working process

From initial discussion to handover

The sequence is adapted to the yacht, but decisions, access and responsibility are made explicit before work proceeds.

  1. Initial discussion - yacht, location, current condition, owner goals and timetable.
  2. Inspection and scope - review accessible condition and define required work and exclusions.
  3. Quotations - obtain and compare relevant contractor, material and yard proposals.
  4. Refit plan - agree order of work, access, haul-out needs, dependencies and approvals.
  5. Work and supervision - coordinate specialists and monitor progress against the agreed scope.
  6. Owner reporting - provide photographs, progress, issues, approvals and expenditure visibility.
  7. Quality and completion - review completed work and record outstanding items.
  8. Commissioning and handover - coordinate launch, agreed testing, sea trial or owner return as appropriate.

Project clarity

Clear scope, identifiable costs and owner approvals

Refit work changes when hidden damage, access limitations or parts availability become clear. A transparent process separates approved scope from additional work and keeps financial authority with the owner.

  • Scope, exclusions and approval authority are agreed before work starts.
  • Third-party quotations can be reviewed with the owner before appointment.
  • Supplier and contractor charges remain identifiable in project reporting.
  • Premium Yachts Spain project, attendance and travel charges are separately visible where applicable.
  • Additional work is documented and approved according to the agreed authority.

Typical work

Typical work supported by the project library

The photographs show genuine workshop and yacht work. They support the categories below without identifying private clients or claiming unsupported budgets, dates or performance gains.

  • Composite lay-up, local fabrication, hull preparation and fairing.
  • Visible GRP damage repair and finish reinstatement.
  • Propeller inspection, blade repair, fairing and polishing.
  • Interior access, local joinery reconstruction and reinstatement.
  • Cockpit cushion and upholstery renewal.
  • Multi-trade yard periods requiring sequencing and owner reporting.

Real project photography

Selected refit work

A curated selection of real workshop and yacht photographs. Filters group the visible work; they are not a claim that every trade shown is carried out exclusively in-house.

Based in Altea, working across the Costa Blanca

Premium Yachts Spain S.L. is based at Marina Greenwich / Puerto Campomanes in Altea, Alicante. Local coordination can cover Altea, Calpe, Moraira, Jávea / Xàbia, Dénia, Alicante and Valencia. Wider Spain, the Balearics and Mediterranean assignments are considered by agreement.

  • Travel, attendance frequency and yard access are discussed before instruction.
  • We do not imply permanent offices or teams in every marina.
  • The yacht, project scope and contractor availability determine the practical service area.

Yacht refit questions

What yacht refit services do you provide?

We define and coordinate agreed structural, technical and cosmetic work, including hull and composite repairs, propeller and running-gear work, interiors and upholstery, coatings, specialist systems, yard periods and completion follow-up.

Can you manage a complete yacht refit?

Yes, where the yacht, location and scope are suitable. We create a work plan, coordinate the yard and appointed specialists, control approvals and report progress. Each specialist remains responsible for their trade.

Do you work with sailing yachts, motor yachts and catamarans?

Yes. The practical scope depends on the vessel type, construction, systems, access and condition rather than a single yacht category.

Can you repair GRP or fibreglass damage?

The supplied project evidence supports GRP and composite work. We first review the visible damage and access, then agree the repair method and whether further structural assessment or a specialist is required.

Can you coordinate propeller and underwater gear work?

Yes. We can coordinate inspection and specialist workshop work for propellers and accessible running gear, together with haul-out, removal, measurement and refitting where included.

Do you arrange mast and rigging work?

We can coordinate suitable rigging or mast specialists when the project requires them. The limited photographic record does not justify presenting rigging as a separate dedicated refit division.

Can you replace yacht upholstery and cushions?

Yes, within an agreed interior or soft-furnishing scope that covers templates, materials, access, removal, manufacture and refitting.

Do you coordinate haul-outs and boatyards?

Yes. Yard selection, haul-out timing, access rules, lifting and launch arrangements can be included. Yard and lifting charges remain separate third-party costs.

How are refit quotations approved?

We agree approval authority with the owner. Quotations and material proposals can be reviewed before appointment, and additional work is documented and approved according to that authority.

Can I manage the project remotely?

Yes. Remote owners can receive progress photographs, issue notes, quotation decisions and expenditure reporting according to the agreed communication plan.

How long does a yacht refit take?

There is no reliable generic duration. Timing depends on condition, access, yard schedule, materials, specialist availability, parts, approvals and any newly discovered work. A meaningful programme follows the initial scope review.

Can you prepare a yacht for sale or after purchase?

Yes. We can connect survey findings, presentation work and agreed repairs to a pre-sale plan, or coordinate priority work and upgrades after purchase.

Can you handle a refit outside the Costa Blanca?

Wider Spain, the Balearics and Mediterranean assignments may be arranged by agreement. Travel, attendance and local contractor arrangements are assessed for the specific project.
