Yacht Management in Spain

Your yacht in Spain. Your local point of contact. Care, maintenance coordination and practical ownership support from Marina Greenwich in Altea.

Local care when you are away

Owning a yacht abroad should not mean coordinating every contractor from a distance. We help international and absentee owners keep sailing yachts, motor yachts and catamarans organised between visits, with one local contact and an agreed plan.

  • Regular care for owners who visit periodically or live abroad.
  • Maintenance coordination for yachts with complex onboard systems.
  • Remote oversight of repairs and refit work, with clear owner decisions.
  • Arrival preparation and practical support throughout ownership.

Three levels of yacht care and management

Indicative monthly fees only, excluding VAT - not binding quotations. The final scope and fee follow a yacht review and depend on size, type, systems, condition, location, inspection frequency, reporting, owner requests, seasonality, contractor workload and travel.

Yacht Care

€300-€450

per month + VAT

A local presence and routine checks between your visits.

  • Key holding and approximately fortnightly visual condition checks.
  • Bilges, batteries, shore power and visible signs of water ingress.
  • Mooring lines, fenders, obvious deck/exterior issues and selected systems.
  • Reasonable follow-up after storms or adverse weather.
  • Basic photo updates and notification of issues requiring owner decisions. Routine visits are not full technical surveys.

Yacht Management

€650-€1,000

per month + VAT

Yacht Care where appropriate, plus active maintenance and owner coordination.

  • Agreed weekly inspections, maintenance plans and monthly reports with photo documentation.
  • Contractor quotations, scheduling, access, marina/yard liaison and approved-repair follow-up.
  • Cleaning coordination; laundry and provisioning when requested.
  • Haul-out, antifouling and servicing plans, seasonal and pre-departure preparation.
  • Basic expense tracking and urgent operational support when reasonably required. Specialist technical work is arranged with third parties where needed.

Full Yacht Management

€1,200-€2,000+

per month + VAT

The appropriate care and management scope, with broader technical and financial oversight.

  • Annual maintenance plan, budget, calendar and detailed expense records.
  • Contractor/project supervision, yard periods, refit and haul-out coordination.
  • Captain/crew coordination and insurance paperwork within an administrative scope.
  • Safety and technical records, maintenance history and delivery/repositioning arrangements.
  • Arrival readiness, detailed monthly technical/financial reporting and larger refit projects; charter preparation only where legally and operationally applicable. Coordination does not include regulated financial, legal or crew-employment services.

Transparent costs. Clear approvals. Regular reporting.

You should know what work is proposed, why it is needed and what it costs. We agree financial authority and spending limits before work starts.

  • Supplier quotations and costs remain identifiable and transparent.
  • Work is approved according to the agreed authority and budget.
  • Additional Premium Yachts Spain services are itemised on invoices.
  • Expenditure is supported by invoices and reports; travel and project costs are not hidden inside vague maintenance charges.

What is charged separately?

The monthly fee covers the agreed management scope, not every running cost. Additional services and third-party costs are agreed separately; no fixed extra rates are implied here.

  • Refit/project management, yard attendance, surveys, haul-out, specialists and underwater work.
  • Cleaning/detailing, provisioning, fuel, parts and marina charges.
  • Travel, transport, accommodation and daily allowances for longer assignments.
  • Emergency attendance outside routine scope. Additional company costs are itemised and supplier costs remain separately identifiable.

From Altea across the Costa Blanca

Our base is Marina Greenwich / Puerto Campomanes in Altea, Alicante. Local coordination covers the Costa Blanca: Altea, Calpe, Moraira, Jávea / Xàbia, Dénia and Alicante.

  • Wider Spain and Mediterranean support is arranged by agreement, according to yacht, location, scope and visit frequency.
  • We do not imply permanent teams or offices in every marina.
  • Travel requirements and costs are discussed and agreed transparently.

Your Yacht Health Report

A regular report makes the yacht’s condition, work and next decisions easy to follow. The format is adapted to the agreed scope; it does not replace a formal yacht survey.

  • Condition summary, inspection dates and systems checked.
  • Issues identified; completed, in-progress and planned work; supplier activity.
  • Expense summary, recommendations and decisions required from the owner.
  • Approximately 10-15 supporting photographs, depending on activity and the agreed scope.
  • Green - normal; no action required
  • Yellow - attention, monitoring or planned work
  • Red - owner decision or corrective action required

How management begins

An agreed scope turns a general request into a practical plan for your yacht.

A person polishing the hull of a yacht ashore
Planning maintenance and coordinating specialist work ashore.
  1. Initial conversation: yacht, location, use and owner priorities.
  2. Yacht review: condition, systems, documents and current maintenance needs.
  3. Scope and quotation: visits, reporting, financial authority, budget and exclusions.
  4. Handover: keys, documents, contacts, service history and owner preferences.
  5. Ongoing care: scheduled checks, coordination, reporting and approvals.
  6. Periodic review: adjust the plan as the yacht, season and your needs change.

Arrive. Step aboard. Go sailing.

Let us organise the practical preparation before you arrive. Readiness tasks are agreed for your yacht; no check can guarantee that every system will remain fault-free.

  • Arrange access, opening up and cleaning.
  • Review water, fridge, batteries, shore power, tender and agreed system readiness.
  • Arrange provisioning when requested.
  • Follow up contractor completion, communicate known defects and support departure preparation.

Priority assistance for managed yachts

Urgent operational issues are assessed according to location, circumstances, staff and contractor availability, and the agreed scope. This is not a guaranteed round-the-clock emergency service.

  • We help coordinate the practical response and keep the owner informed.
  • Attendance outside routine scope and associated travel are agreed and charged separately.

One team for the ownership journey

Premium Yachts Spain combines a Marina Greenwich office with brokerage, refit coordination and delivery support. Our team includes experienced skippers and marine-survey expertise, bringing practical technical understanding to owner communication.

  • A local base in Altea and international owner communication.
  • Support connecting purchase, maintenance, use and eventual sale.
  • Specialists engaged where their expertise is required, with responsibilities defined for the agreed work.

Yacht management: your questions

What does yacht management include?

It combines the agreed inspections, maintenance planning, contractor coordination, reporting and practical owner support. The three levels above are a starting point; the written scope defines your service.

How much does yacht management cost?

The indicative monthly ranges above exclude VAT. We review the yacht, location, systems, frequency and workload before confirming a fee. Running costs and extra services are separate.

Can you help if I live outside Spain?

Yes. The service is designed for owners abroad or visiting periodically who need a local contact, clear reports and a practical approval process.

How often will you check my yacht?

Yacht Care normally starts with approximately fortnightly checks; Yacht Management includes agreed weekly inspections. Frequency is confirmed for the yacht and scope, not assumed to be continuous attendance.

Do you carry out every repair yourselves?

No. We coordinate selected contractors and technical specialists as needed, with quotations, access and follow-up. Each specialist remains responsible for their work.

Can you prepare the yacht before I arrive?

Yes, within an agreed plan: cleaning, access, selected system checks, water and fridge readiness, tender preparation and requested provisioning. Known defects are communicated; fault-free operation is not guaranteed.

Will I receive reports?

Yacht Care includes basic photo updates. Management levels include regular monthly reporting appropriate to scope, with condition, activity, expenses and owner decisions. The fictional example shows the format.

How are costs and approvals handled?

We agree financial authority and budget, identify supplier costs and itemise additional company services. Invoices and reports support expenditure; travel and project costs are disclosed.

Can you manage a yacht outside the Costa Blanca?

Wider Spain and Mediterranean work can be arranged by agreement depending on yacht, location, scope and visit frequency. Travel is agreed separately; this does not imply a permanent team in every port.

Is emergency assistance included?

Managed yachts receive priority assistance subject to circumstances, location, availability and agreed scope. This is not a guaranteed 24-hour service; attendance outside routine scope may be charged separately.

Do you support sailing yachts and motor yachts?

Yes. Inspection and maintenance plans are adapted to each yacht’s systems, condition and use, with specialists coordinated where required.

Can you support catamarans?

Yes. We review the catamaran’s systems and operational needs before agreeing visits, work, reporting and a fee. We do not apply a one-size-fits-all technical checklist.
